Ole Dog’s Coffee Culture has quickly become a welcoming and unique destination in Galion, Ohio, offering much more than a great cup of coffee. Locally owned and operated by Dwayne and Deborah Castle, this specialty retail shop brings together high‑quality coffee, tea, thoughtful gifts, and a strong sense of community.

Since opening their Uptowne Galion location in April 2023, Ole Dog’s Coffee Culture has focused on creating an experience that reflects both their passion for specialty coffee and their commitment to the community they call home.

A Specialty Coffee and Gift Experience

Ole Dog’s Coffee Culture is a specialty retail gift shop serving coffee and tea lovers, gift‑seekers, and anyone who enjoys discovering something a little different. Their offerings include:

In addition, they recently opened “Our Upper Room,” a dedicated space within the shop featuring Christian gifts and books, adding another thoughtful dimension to their retail experience.

Their coffee program is a cornerstone of the business. Ole Dog’s focuses on responsibly sourced, specialty‑grade coffee, offering a wide range of roasts and flavors designed to appeal to both seasoned coffee drinkers and those just beginning their specialty coffee journey.

Rooted in the Crawford County Community

Community connection runs deep for Dwayne and Deborah.

Dwayne has called Galion home since 1993, and Deborah since 2010. While Ole Dog’s Coffee Culture is a newer addition to Uptowne Galion, their roots in the area — and their investment in local relationships — run much deeper.

That sense of connection is evident in how they do business and how they continue to engage with the community they serve.

More Than a Storefront

Beyond retail, Ole Dog’s Coffee Culture also offers Coffee For Your Cause fundraising programs, supporting youth sports, missions, schools, and other local causes. These fundraisers provide organizations with a meaningful way to raise funds while supporting a local business at the same time.

They also host educational opportunities, including coffee‑making classes, helping customers learn more about brewing techniques and the craft behind a great cup of coffee.

Why the Chamber Connection Matters

Dwayne and Deborah have been involved with the Chamber since around 2017, originally through the Galion‑Crestline Chamber of Commerce. When the Galion‑Crestline and Bucyrus chambers united to form the Crawford County Chamber of Commerce in 2025, continuing that involvement felt like a natural next step.

They shared that the Chamber team has always been encouraging, helpful, and responsive — making involvement an easy decision as their business evolved.

Why Relationships Matter Most

When asked what being part of the local business community means to them, the answer was simple — and powerful.

Relationships mean everything.

Despite opportunities to move Ole Dog’s Coffee Culture to larger or more profitable cities, they chose to stay in Galion because of the connections they’ve built and the sense of community they’ve found since opening their doors.

We’re proud to spotlight Ole Dog’s Coffee Culture and appreciate the role they play in Uptowne Galion and the broader Crawford County business community. Their commitment to quality, education, and relationships reflects the heart of what makes our local businesses special.
